Audi MMI 2G hidden red menu was created mostly for easy software updates of your Multimedia Interface system. In this hidden menu you can also find information about cars equipment (CD changer, navigation, TV tuner, Audi Music Interface).
Update procedure can take couple of hours. It is important to eliminate any power shortage. If you are in poor condition, we recommend using the battery charger while performing this procedure. Turn any unnecessary devices that can cause battery drain while the key is in the ACC position (HVAC system, interior and exterior lights, audio system, phone charger). During this procedure do not use any electrical accessories (electric windows, power seats, central lock, electric boot lid). Take out CDs from the CD changer that's in the glove box or in the center console.

I work in IT, and when firmware is released it normally includes a change list. I can't seem to find one for any of the audi firmwares that are available. Does anyone have this, or, if not, a kinda list of changes that are thjere. Apart from the maps, is there actually any new features in it / any point? Not sure what firmware version I currently have, but it runs 2014 maps.
