Some times I get the error 'USB device not recognized', some times I get no error at all. Unplugging the USB receiver and plugging it back in the same or a different USB port gets the mouse and keyboard to work for some time but after a while (randomly) they stop working again. I've search the internet for this problem and similar ones, and basically I've tried everything without success. I've restarted Windows, I've disabled the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' option in all the USB devices, I've updated all Dell drivers and I've re-installed the latest Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard driver (MouseKeyboardCenter_64bit_ENG_2.7.133.exe) but the problem remains exactly the same.

Hi, So the issue could still be related to software side, lets check if the mouse is as said installed correctly, if you go into Control Panel --> Hardware And Sound --> And select Mouse from Devices And Printers you should be able to see a pin after clicking on it which says 'Wheel' and there be sure to set the scroll limits for Vertical and or Horizontal scrolling, if you do not see a Wheel option I would advise that you look for a newer or if you have the newest driver maybe an older one, Report back afterwards. Edit: You could use this page if you have this type of mouse but be sure to select the mouse you have.
