I'm on an HP desktop and using Google Chrome At first I didn't think it was picking up my mic at all but today when I tried to record for the heck of it, I discovered that it's there, but very faint. I just no longer hear my mic through my speakers (or headphones) at all. When I ran the wizard and spoke into my mic the bar didn't move at all. For the heck of it I recorded a song and I put the record button all the way up on the recorder and turned the volume all the way up on my smm-117 that my mic is plugged into and the indicator picked up a little movement. I went into my recording devices and changed my settings (like upped the boost) and it caused a hiss in my recording. So I put everything back where it normally is and recorded again.

It's annoying to have the volume up 100% all the time with it STILL not being loud. I love windows 7 but I will be forced to go back to XP if I can not find a working driver for this. Now before I always had an inbuild soundcard (duplex function) so with either stereo mix or what you hear in it.that's very important for me. I can't use it anymore because this new computer has a PCI Express slot so my old soundcard doesn't fit in it. I am using now the Sound Blaster X-Fi Go Pro (which had the duplex function) but with USB.
