Hi Chester, Originally the OP got infected as part of the process, and he states after that happened he gave up on it. 
Fast forward to the future, OP has found some better files and retried with a lot of success. I have also followed the instructions to the T and was able to finally connect the vehicle to the laptop using the mini cable and software. The issue I have is when I go to program the smart key for my vehicle I get an error message: This is on the selection screen after you connect the vehicle and select your make and model of the car, and then select 'Smart Access' to program a smart key. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? I am trying to program a backup smart key for my Lexus IS250 2007.

Registry Hack: Run the mvci-64bit.reg file to modify the registry for Techstream to recognize MINI-VCI under Windows x64 8. Go to Setup VIM Select menu and select the ”XHorse – MVCI” 11. Connect Mini VCI cable to your car‘s OBDII interface, turn ignition on, then click ”Connect to Vehicle” in Techstream. Then wait again.
